ISGA Release: Best Practice Principles Version 6

As part of our commitment to promoting responsible standards and ensuring a consistent global framework for the social games industry based on the core values of consumer protection, accountability and transparency, the International Social Games Association are pleased to announce an updated version of its Best Practice Principles.

Trust and safety are at the centre of the latest version of Best Practice Principles released by the ISGA - our sixth iteration since 2013.

As the world’s peak industry association for social games (games played on mobile devices), the ISGA is committed to the safest and most secure games experience for all players. That’s why it is so important that Best Practice Principles are regularly refreshed and modernised to ensure they are fit-for-purpose in such a rapidly evolving sector.

These Best Practice Principles are based upon the core values of consumer protection, accountability and transparency to shape a consistent and complementary global framework.

We have identified ten key target areas:

  • Respect

  • Adherence to Applicable Laws and Regulations

  • Design, Fairness and Functionality

  • Purchases, Payments and Transparency

  • Virtual Items, Secondary Markets and Skins Betting

  • Ratings and Parental Controls

  • Advertising of Games

  • Privacy

  • Complaints

  • Safeguarding Players

The ISGA is proud to be taking the lead in promoting responsible standards for the sector.
